San Francisco, CA — May 5, 2026 — Two outstanding food and beverage entrepreneurs have been selected for this year’s LDEI-SF Female Entrepreneur Grant and Mentorship, each receiving a $7,500 cash award and participation in the Salt & Roe Mentorship Program. The program is designed to support growing businesses with both financial resources and strategic guidance as they take the next step in their development.
The 2026 recipients are Terah Bajjalieh of Terah Wine Company and Jen Musty of Batter Bakery—two founders whose work reflects innovation, quality, and a strong commitment to their craft.
Terah Bajjalieh, Terah Wine Company

Founded in 2020, Terah Wine Co. is a California-based, one-woman operation focused on craftsmanship, sustainability, and disciplined growth. The winery produces limited-production wines using grapes sourced from organically, biodynamically, and regeneratively farmed vineyards, with an emphasis on Mediterranean varieties. Since launching with just 120 cases, the company has grown to approximately 2,000 cases annually and now distributes across seven national markets.

Founded in 2008, Batter Bakery has become a beloved institution in the San Francisco Bay Area. What began as a single concept has expanded into a multifaceted business that includes a production bakery, retail kiosk, farmers market stall, and wholesale operation. Batter Bakery is known for its classic, nostalgia-driven treats that incorporate seasonal flavors sourced from local farmers, alongside organic grains, local dairy, and premium chocolate. The company champions baked goods as a daily indulgence while also offering whole-grain and nutritionally specific options.
“These entrepreneurs exemplify the creativity, resilience, and vision that define the future of the food and beverage industry,” said Mary Gassen, Chair of the LDEI-SF Grant Committee. “We are proud to support their continued growth through this grant and mentorship opportunity.”
The Salt & Roe Mentorship Program, called The Walk-In, pairs recipients with experienced industry leaders, providing guidance, connections, and resources to help scale their businesses sustainably.
